TCYSA Tryouts FAQ's

My child will not be available for the sessions. What options do we have?

It is in your child’s best interest to attend both of his or her assigned sessions. Doing so reinforces your family’s commitment to this program in the eyes of your child. It also ensures that your child is fairly evaluated while trying out with players of comparable age and ability.

If your child cannot attend a tryout session, please e-mail the appropriate division to discuss your player’s circumstances:

Academy:         academytryouts@twincitysoccer.com

Challenge:         challengetryouts@twincitysoccer.com

Classic:            classictryouts@twincitysoccer.com

In some cases, your child may be asked to attend an older age-group session just prior to the appropriate age-group session. This is done for two reasons: One, this neutralizes any possible advantage a player has to show better with younger, less-experienced players. Two, this allows the evaluators to consider the player’s performance along with the entire group of players at the end of the appropriate age-group session, when the evaluators select a full team rosters based on performance.

For new players that move to the area after tryouts have occurred, parents should contact Director of Coaching (paulforster@twincitysoccer.com).
