DONATE OLD TRY-OUT T-SHIRTS

Hi Twin City parents & players,

My name is Aly Murawski, and I’ve been playing soccer in the Twin City organization for the past 6 years. I play for Mike Southard on the 89’ Lady Twins Silver, my younger sister plays on the 91’ Lady Twins Blue classic team, and my dad is also involved with the league. Over the years, we’ve acquired countless Twin City try-out t-shirts, most of which sit forgotten in the bottom of various dressers & closets. These old try-out shirts can go to good use though: they could serve as team jerseys for children living in extreme poverty both here and abroad. My plan is to collect Twin City try-out shirts (the numbers on the back make them more realistic jerseys), dye them different colors in sets of 18, and send them to children who could use them as team jerseys. I’ve already found tentative contact people in Africa, the Dominican Republic and Appalachia who can distribute the shirts to appropriate organizations.

In order for this to work, we need your help. There will be drop off boxes set up at the Sara Lee main concession stand, between fields 5 & 6, and also at the picnic shelter at the new BB&T Soccer Park, during the Twin City Classic tournament. Please bring any Twin City try-out shirts that you’re willing to donate to either of these locations so we can collect them. Thanks in advance for your support in this effort to help others.
