| Twin City Youth Soccer Association (TCYSA) was chartered in 1988
as a 501c(3) non-profit organization, after the Association had been
organized several years earlier. Its purpose at the time of the
charter was “to develop, promote and advance youth soccer in the
Winston-Salem metropolitan area. Further, the purpose shall be to
allow the dedicated soccer player to develop to his/her highest
potential.” In 1988, there were four age groups represented on the
charter. Currently, there are over 1,400 boys and girls who are involved in TCYSA, encompassing nine age groups. The Association has a full time Director of Coaching whose main responsibilities are the training and development of the coaches and players. We have a coaching staff that includes over 130 paid professional and volunteer coaches. In addition, a voluntary executive board of directors manages the operations of the association. TCYSA is comprised of two recreation level programs - the Twins Development Program and the Twins Juniors Program, and three Select divisions - Challenge, Academy, and Classic . The Twins Juniors Program includes ages U6-U10 and focuses on a one a week program on skills. The Twins Development Program, a non-tryout program for ages 5- 11, is a traditional recreation program held each fall and spring with registration in February for the spring and August for the fall program. Tryouts are held each May and early June for the Challenge, Academy, and Classic divisions with registration beginning in April. The Challenge division includes ages U9 - U18, Academy include U9-U10, and Classic includes U11-U18. Click here for a comparison of all of TCYSA's programs.
