Soccer Partnership in
the Triad
We are pleased to announce that Twin City Youth Soccer
Association, Piedmont Triad Football Club and Greensboro
Youth Soccer Association are working towards creating a
new Soccer Partnership in the Triad to benefit the youth
players in the area 
Representatives from
each club will be available to answer questions at
upcoming information sessions throughout the Triad. Twin
City will host several at BB&T Soccer Park, on Feb.
15 at 7:00 p.m. and on Feb. 18 at 5:30 p.m. With the
uncertain weather lately, please confirm dates and times
on our website. Meantime, we welcome any questions or
comments from our members, asking that you e-mail them
to
fusion@twincitysoccer.com so that we may respond in
a “frequently-asked-questions” format available to
all three clubs’ membership. |

Year
John Babcock, was awarded the Challenge Girls
Coach of the Year at the NCYSA Awards Luncheon
in January. Pictured is John receiving his award

Referee Clinic Cancelled - Re-scheduled for Next Week
The Grade 08 referee class scheduled for this week
has been cancelled and rescheduled for next week. The
four sessions will be held on Tues., Feb. 9, Thurs., Feb
11, Saturday, Feb. 13 and Sun., Feb. 14. |

Tasedan Leaving to Accompany Wife to Goose Bay,
Labrador
George Tasedan, an assistant director of coaching for
Twin City Youth Soccer Association, is resigning his
position to join his wife, Glenna, in Labrador, where
she will be assuming responsibilities as minister of
Happy Valley Moravian Church in Goose Bay.  |

TCYSA to Host Two Coaching Licensing Clinics
TCYSA will host an "E" license clinic on Jan.
29-31, and a "D" license coaching clinic over
two weekends on Feb. 12-14 and 19-21. For more

Soccer Clinic
Anna Rodenbough, former '86 Lady Twin and UNC
Goalkeeper, along with other UNC players, will be
conducting a soccer clinic for boys and girls ages 6-18
on Sunday, Dec. 13, from 1-5 pm. in Chapel
Hill. This clinic benefits Carolina for Kibera,
a non-profit organization doing community development
in the Kibera slum of Kenya.

Alumni News: Liz Hawes
Liz Hawes, an '89 Lady Twins White team member, earned
several soccer honors at Lenoir-Rhyne College. She was
named to the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) First Team
All Conference team, and was named both SAC
Freshman of the Year and SAC Player of the Year.

NCYSA Sends Information on the H1N1 Flu
NCYSA sent information to all associations with
recommendations for the H1N1 flu. TCYSA encourages all parents
to read the information and follow the recommendations
from the CDC.

Uniroyal Supports TCYSA
The Tire Shop of Advance and Uniroyal Tire have teamed
up to support Twin City Youth Soccer with a free
soccer ball giveaway and fundraiser. A donation will
be made to Twin City Youth Soccer for every Uniroyal
Tire sold by the Tire Shop of Advance to the general
public during the program period, which goes through
September. In addition, if you pick up a certificate
from Twin City, complete the questionnaire on the back
and take it to the Tire Shop of Advance, you can
exchange it for a free soccer ball, with sizes #3, #4,
and #5 available. Offer good while supplies last! The
certificates are located in the literature holder on
the large message board in front of the clubhouse at
BB&T Soccer Park.
